Woodworking at Jerusalem Mill Village
New for 2010... Check out the new Woodworking Shop
In 2009, our woodworkers enclosed the lean-to behind the Gun Shop, turning it into their woodworking shop. On most Sundays you can find our craftsmen faithfully working with period correct tools and methods to produce furniture and accessories for the 18th century Living History program. Projects completed include a shaving horse (a bench that provides support on which to clamp or hold materials being worked), a tavern table and a cross buck table (a more rustic table that can be taken apart easily for transport). The ladies in the Gunshop enjoy the use of their flatware tray that our woodworkers made for them. Sometimes you can find our craftsmen working on building repairs and remodeling projects as well.
